The Riding Hood Files
Rule ten: Magic is dangerous. Play with it, and you’ll get burned.
Life has taken an unexpected turn for Stasia Weatherly. Now a full partner at Weather and Hunter, Private Investigators, and enjoying her budding relationship with Brendan, everything Stasia has worked for is set to unravel when her bondmate, Red, hires the duo. The shifter clan elders have mysteriously disappeared, including Nana Riding, Stasia’s grandmother.
With her grandmother missing, Stasia finds herself the temporary leader of the shifters she left behind after her brother was exiled from the clans. The case will test the limits of her skills while she learns to navigate the politics and magic that threatens to tear her world apart.
Reviews
Great read for those who enjoy fairy tales and detective stories!
Told from the POV of Stasia, who was a main character in the previous book. It was cool being able to see Stasia's viewpoint, as she is a shifter and thus has a different view of the world than her partner Brendan (a mage). This was a good sequel to the first, and left me wanting a third book (which I hope is in the works).
Recommended for readers who enjoy fairy tales and detective stories.

[I did think Red's death was rather convenient, especially since the moment his concept was introduced in the previous book, I called said death, but at least Stasia and Brendan can be happy together now without her heartbond hanging over their heads. (hide spoiler)]

A Fun Read
This is good fun, if not quite as much as the Snow White Files.
It's a good series, though. Bottom line, I'll buy the next one.
